Hello my friends!
This is the final week of Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm’s alphabet themed topic for July’s Top 5!
This is the week that is also known as ‘the stumper.’ Why? Well have you seen those letters. Wowsers. Somehow I managed to find a book for all of them. Have I read all those books? Not a chance!
Let’s get cracking!
I mean… of course ‘U’ was going to be Uprooted. Could I have chosen anything else?!
I have yet to read V for Vendetta but I’ve seen the movie and I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read of Alan Moore so far (not much, but I’ve enjoyed it). This may be a hard hitting one though. Well, aren’t they all?
Winter is the last book of the The Lunar Chronicles and while it wasn’t my favourite (that’s reserved for Cress) it was still a thoroughly fun and enjoyable read back when YA wasn’t all inappropriate sex scenes and despair.
Honestly? Anything called X Marks the Scot should be on everyone’s list. I don’t actually read a great deal of romance if at all but this looks like fun ensues.
I forget I’d even read this book until doing this challenge! So there you have it, these lists make you remember what you’ve read years ago!
I read Yes Man while waiting in a NHS hospital to get my wisdom teeth removed and because it was a non emergency appointment in a NHS hospital there was a lot of waiting. I napped, I wandered, I read this entire book.
I then got inspired to say yes to more things. Not to Danny Wallace levels obviously.
The other great thing about this challenge is that it’s made me go hunting for books and I’ve found some that I’ve never heard of and would now like to read.
Zombie isn’t one that sounds like an easy read – a insight into a perverse serial killer’s mind based on Jeffrey Dahmer – but it has piqued my morbid interest so I may have to give it a go. With the lights on I think.
There you have it! The final alphabet letters!
As usual let me know your thoughts, any there you’ve read? Any you like? Any you don’t like?
If you’ve participated, how did you find this weeks one?
Until next time!
“The Stumper” yes it certainly was! I think we all struggled with this one. Lol! Half of my list are on my TBR shelf and X is a book I found on Amazon that I probably will read but haven’t bought yet. Funnily enough, I’ve watched V for Vendetta too but don’t think it’s a book I’d sit down and read. x

These were definitely the trickiest letters for sure! I haven’t read the x on my list but I’m now very tempted to give it a go. I did enjoy V for Vendetta and wonder how the graphic novel compares, so I will give it a go at some point I hope.

Thank you! Blimey, me too. Managed to pull a few out of the bag there somehow! Oddly Winter was the first one that came to mind but I think it helps that I only read it last year!

X marks the Scot, Temptation in a Kilt, oh my.. 😂 That last one sounds interesting, I’ll have to look into it! And I need to read the Lunar Chronicles already bahhh!

Hahaha! I know! I feel all ‘oh my’ about it too but I actually might have to read it now even though it was a bit of a ‘gag’ choice.
I’d never heard of Zombie either even though I had heard of that writer. I think it’s one I would like to read now too. Oh Lunar Chronicles is such fun. There’s something quite wholesome and YA about it rather than it being doom and gloom and verging into NA which I quite like about it.

Haha I might read them too, it’s not like I’m a stranger to reading Scottish historical romance. 😀
I love true crime, so at the mention of Jeffrey Dahmer I was in. 😀 Okay, I was not so sure about Lunar Chronicles, but ‘wholesome’ bought me. 🙂

Thank you!!
It made me chuckle a ton when I saw it because I thought it was very tongue in cheek. Is it wrong that I’m tempted to read it now?!

I know, I’d never heard of it before but now I have I’d like to give it a go. I don’t mind reading ‘dark’ books and this may very well be quite dark!
