Hello my wonderful book reading friends!
I hope the past two weeks have been kind to you. I took a brief mini hiatus just to get my shizzle back together and whilst I can’t say the shizzle is together, it’s looking significantly more cohesive than it has done for a while.
Just to pre-empt people though – it’s going to be an appalling let down of a May wrap up on account of me not having picked up a single book. OK, that’s a minor lie. I’ve picked books up but the most I’ve done is stare at them as wistfully as my indoor cat stares at birds through the window.
Long Live the Slump. Sigh.
But this isn’t what you’re here for. Nope.
Back in March I wrote a post about how it was my one year ‘Blogversary.’ I did my usual and spoke nonsense at you but then I sweetened the pill by announcing a Giveaway! For refreshers here is the post.
So here we go!
To celebrate turning one whole year old I decided to do a Giveaway and that was to offer one person a single MasterClass of their choice (but to be connected to books in some way).
Depending on the MasterClass that was selected there could have been anything up to 24 lessons.
Now I don’t know if it was because people didn’t fancy the prize or if they didn’t like the idea of entering via the contact form but I didn’t have a lot of entrants. This is actually good news for the entrants as it greatly increased their chances of winning 😉
The winner has been selected via the incredibly high tech method of putting their names on pieces of paper, folding them up real tight and getting my husband to pick one. I am not one to move with the times.
Anyhow…
Drum roll please…
Keep drumming….
Keep drumming….
Keeeeep drumming…….
The winner is…
Kathy @ Pages Below the Vaulted Sky!!
Mahoosive congrats to Kathy on her win and her prize is mega awesome in that she’s chosen the MasterClass: ‘Neil Gaiman Teaches the Art of Storytelling.’
If you want something to get you excited, Kathy – here’s the official trailer!
I will be getting your gift sorted for you asap!
Enjoy!!
I’m just here blinking stupidly at the screen because ERR WHAT??? HOLY CRAP, A THOUSAND THANK YOU’S FOR DOING THIS GIVEAWAY, GERRY!!! ❤ ❤ I actually expected a lot more people to enter because having Masterclass as a prize is such a unique idea. I'm so excited!! I've been hearing stories on twitter about how amazing Neil's classes are. And HOW is it that he makes this 2 minute trailer more magical and inspiring than, like, half the movies I watch ever year?! I swear, the man's a changeling.

And I’m sorry the month was a slumpy one! But I hope you got some writing done during the break!

You are most welcome and congratulations on winning! There was a grand total of 3 entrants so it was a very close call! I hope you enjoy the Masterclass, my husband actually got me the Neil Gaiman one for my birthday but I haven’t started it yet but when I do I’ll let you know! It will good to know what you think of it as well!
I’ve had the luck to see Neil Gaiman live and he is a very warm and engaging speaker, he has a gift of making it seem like he’s sat in your living room having a chat so I think it will be wonderful.
You should be getting an email today!

Thank you! Me too. I have so many books to actually read and none of them are appealing to me at the moment. I just need to bit the bullet, pick one up and just get stuck in!

Aww, I’m so sorry to hear you that fell into a slump! If it’s of any consolation to you, I read barely a book every month (if at all lol), so welcome to the club. I’m sure you’ll be raring to go next month though. Can’t wait for your posts again! ❤ (and congrats to the winner!)

The slump is just not going anywhere however much I yell at it. Which as it turns out is not the approach. I think I need to find the book to break it!
