The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme with a prompt featuring a book related question. The hop begins on a Friday and ends on a Thursday and should hopefully give people the opportunity to learn something new about the blogger.
The Book Blogger Hop can be found on Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer and obviously my answers can be found here!
Huh?
I had to look this up because I actually didn’t know what was meant by a ‘bookish accessory.’ No lie. I genuinely didn’t know. I cannot highlight this strongly enough; I am not cool enough to understand anyone.
But luckily I have now been educated by the power of Google and I can safely say that if I had to choose a favourite it wouldn’t be anything that actually counts as a bookish accessory but would be these bad boys…
That’s right dear readers. My eyesight is shocking. Not even a little bit shocking, just shocking. I have friends who, when looking through my glasses, exclaim with horror, “Are these your eyes??!!”
Yes. Sadly.
So my favourite is the thing that allows me to actually read books. These are my actual glasses by the way (obviously via a picture taken from the internet) and yes they do have funky blue arms.
I would like to take this moment to direct you to a short story called ‘Time Enough at Last’ by Lynn Venable. Go have a look now. Go on. I’ll wait.
Did you find it?
Glasses. Now you know.
As I failed miserably last week at doing blog hops for other blogger’s posts I am coming at you this week with more awesome posts than usual. Check them out!
Briana @ Pages Unbound gave 5 Tips to Drive Traffic to Your Book Blog. Get your pen and notebook handy because these are great tips.
Norrie @ Reading Under the Blankie did an alternative Valentine’s Day post in which she recommended 13 Books for the Non Romantically Inclined.
Aurora @ Aurora Librialis always brings the gold and she has done again with her Readalike Recs feature which is the Favourite Fantasy Author Edition.
Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads deserves all the love for her Ultimate YA Romance Reading Recommendation List. People, there are a ton of books (over 80) that have been recommended so get over there!
Aubrey @ If Mermaids Wore Suspenders wrote about Red Robin Hood: A Collection of Alternative Fairy Tales and because I love me some fairy tales this goes on the list.
Clo @ Book Dragons gave us the Book Blogging 101 on Blog Tours. There’s so much useful advice here including what are book tours and how a blogger can go about getting on one.
Margaret @ Weird Zeal reached a blogversary and wrote a post called 6 Things I’ve Learned in a Year of Blogging of which I agree on every statement she made. For my blogversary I may well just link back to her post.
Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books wrote about her Favourite Bookish Podcasts of which there are many that look amazing.
Sophie @ Beware of the Reader asked her readers ‘Do You Think Publishing Houses Have it Right Choosing Only ‘Big’ Blogs?’ and set about answering it with a well thought out response. Pop in and join the discussion!
Jenniely @ Jenniely shared an eye opening Newbie Blogger Spotlight on The Day Audiobooks Forever Changed My Life where her guest blogger Ashley spoke about how audio books have given her the ability to continue to enjoy books after experiencing visual impairment.
Louise @ Foxes and Fairy Tales has announced #Hamilthon a readathon inspired by Hamilton the musical. I love that musical so much that I am genuinely tempted to give this a go. I’ve been listening to the album to try and get in the mood to pick one of the routes!
What’s your favourite bookish accessory? Do you even have one? Are you like me and will force an answer to fit the question? Is this why I did so badly on my school exams?
Until next week where I answer the question of whether I have made the switch from print to e-books.
Thanks so much for linking back to my post! I’m so glad you found it helpful 😀
Gotta say, glasses are truly the best reading accessory. I am eternally grateful to my contacts, otherwise I’d just constantly be having headaches!

It was incredibly helpful, thank you for writing it. I’m a contacts gal usually but I felt a picture of my eyeball on the internet might be weird.

Another great post roundup!
I also was confused by bookish accessory, I thought it was like your favorite bookmark or themed scarf or something ahahaa. I don’t know that I have one??? I just like books…

Thank you!
I’m glad it’s not just me! I have bookish things but I wanted to shove in my glasses because without them I wouldn’t be able to read any books anyway!

Thanks for the shout-out, and for rounding up these other posts! I’m particularly intrigued by the blogging tips and giant list of romance books (sometimes you just want something cozy!), so thanks again!!

Blogging tips are always so useful and I eat up any advice any one has to give and the lists of romance books are a labour of love (no pun intended) so I just had to include them!

Do bookmarks count? Cause I love my pretty, shiny, magnetic bookmarks a lot! Other than that, I’m not really into bookish accessories. I just want all the books, please.
Thank you so much for sharing my post! There are so many interesting ones here I need to check out 😊

I think they probably do! I don’t even have a bookmark (I’m rubbish) and I’ve been using a crumpled American dollar bill or my old train tickets. I am *flash.*
You’re welcome!

Even though I think bookish accessories are something else, I think your choice is essential. 😀 I often forget I’m wearing glasses so I wouldn’t event think of that haha, though my eyesight is not that bad as yours, sorry. :S My fave bookish accessories are a black & silver Slytherin tote bag, and a gold & black thermos mug with “wingardium leviosa” written on it in gold sparkles. 😀 I think your quote wall is an amazing bookish accessory, if you can count a wall into accessories hahaha! 😀

I think they are meant to be! I just don’t have any bookish accessories so I went with glasses. I found a loophole and I exploited it 😉
Ooh very nice accessories! I do have bookish things like that so I guess they would probably count. Ah yes, my quote wall! The labour of love!
