Ok, well I do and not just the ones that live in my mind.

Got to be honest here – if I have a book on my nightstand it is because I am actually reading it, have it lined up to next read or am currently using it for referencing purposes. None of this ‘reading’ malarkey. Also, I don’t give any concern as to whether it impresses anyone! Ah. Being old makes you liberated!

I’m going to go with the truth on this one. I have seven books on my nightstand and the one on the top of the pile is this: –

Bold of you to assume I dust.

Its one that I haven’t read yet but if I needed to switch one of the ones I currently have on my TBR to an audio book it would probably be this one:-

Apparently Neil Gaiman narrates his own audio books and he is a rather engaging and eloquent speaker so I think it would be a good shout.

I would normally say ‘Caraval’ (which still applies) but I’m also going to throw this into the ring. I have a strange fascination with this series in that I either despise the characters within it or adore them and want to rescue them from the pages and put them into better written, better plotted books that aren’t an excuse to sell badly executed porn to 13 year old girls while exuding toxic masculinity but managing to masquerade as ‘feminism’ and ‘sex positivity.’

I have my issues with this particular series. I have my issues with this particular book.

You know what? This is a pet peeve of mine! Books in bathrooms… it’s a hard no from me in the real world. *Shudders*

But in the name of the game I would go with something jovial and light. I would choose this one:-

The fact that it’s in the bathroom is no reflection on quality. It’s just lighthearted and contains a giggle or two while being strangely uplifting!

I didn’t hate the ending, I just didn’t love it and this was the first book that came to mind when I thought about endings I didn’t like.

I like the idea though that you could secretly feed someone a book and they start absorbing the traits or personality of one of the characters or that suddenly they start experiencing events of the book… power in words and all that.

Hold on. I’ve got another ruddy idea for another ruddy story now. Sigh.

I adored Uprooted by Naomi Novik and I must have Spinning Silver!

I have always wanted to read Howl’s Moving Castle ever since I watched the movie and discovered it was in fact based on a book.

I have recently read The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo and my interest is now totally piqued to read Six of Crows!

Hmmm. This is tricky because I like giving gifts as books and don’t think they should be used as a spiteful/ sarcastic gift!

I can’t think of anything in particular but that being said I would probably gift from the lowest rated Goodreads books. This way it is sarcastic without being sarcastic – ya feel me?

So, after a quick peek at the lowest rated books and choosing one which is not an obvious gift of sarcasm I guess it would be…

But then I don’t think I’m that much of a d*ck.
