Despite me being tagged in a whole bunch of tags which I am totally gearing up to do I have decided to be obnoxious and do one that I haven’t in fact been tagged in. Why?
Why not?
Ok, to answer the question of ‘why not’ is to literally repeat what I have just said and I quote I have been ‘tagged in a whole bunch of tags.’ I am doing this all wrong. Answer tags first and then go off gallivanting all over the place.
I just can’t stop myself.
First of all I stole this from the blog ‘Reading Every Night’ who was legitimately tagged. The post in question is this one right here.
I must confess I love a personality test and I love Myers Briggs. One of the things I like to do when creating characters is flesh them out as much as possible and then get their MBTI personality based on answering the questions as them. It helps flesh them out that little bit more and also helps plug any holes that you as the writer may have as to how they do things/ view the world.
Here is the link to take the test.
So, I took the test.
Bizarrely (or not) I got the same answers as the blog I saw this on!
I’m a wizard!
Wait… hold on a sec…
Nope, just been informed that I am not a wizard and that ‘wizard’ is not a personality type.
Turns out I am an Advocate Personality (INFJ, -A/ -T)
Aka an introverted, intuitive, feeling, judging type who is turbulent. Say what now?
What does this mean? Below is what the results say. I have helpfully included annotations using the highly sophisticated medium of Paint. I can’t keep things consistent so you are welcome to the change of colour and style.
Apparently my strengths are:
- Creative
- Insightful
- Inspiring
- Decisive
- Determined
- Altrustic
And my weaknesses are:
- Sensitive
- Private
- Perfectionist
- Needs to Have a Cause
- Burns Out Easily
So, if I was a character in a book I would be the one that drags you over the Mountain of Doom through the Forest of Horror into the Lake of Infinite Sadness and then onto the Swamps of Eternal Despair in order to save the prophesied child who will in turn save the people. I will be both creative and decisive in my efforts to drag you all along but won’t tell you why you’re coming and then will cry when I can’t handle it anymore or when you question anything.
Cool.
Apparently Goethe was a German poet, novelist, playwright, natural philosopher, diplomat and civil servant who lived from 1749 – 1832. I am incredibly impressed that he managed to do this test back then!
His famous works included Faust and Prometheus.
Er… hell yes?! These are awesome characters. Let’s step it up here…
Good does not equal passive. That’s the whole point of INFJ.
Wait, I didn’t include myself in the montage…
Wow, next to these guys I just… I just fit right in.
The test tells me this…
Hmmm. Holistic healthcare? Counselor? Life Coach? Spiritual Guide? Guys, this is all pointing one way here…
But what does this mean? I did some scientific digging.
Apparently 4 different types are compatible with me and so I did the complete opposite of what my personality is supposed to do and picked the first one. ENFP. Hmm.
You know what guys? One’s a baker and the other owns a chocolate factory.
I’ll take it. Clearly the way through to my heart is through my stomach.
Did you enjoy that self-indulgent ride? I sure hope so!
Now I’m not going to tag in anyone specifically but I genuinely would love to see people do this because it was so much fun and despite my rather tongue in cheek tone I actually adore personality tests and knowing what other people are.
I open the floor up to you all! Because I’m an Advocate and that’s what we do. Yeah.
Hahaha loved this! I’m also a INFJ, so your post kinda made me feel like I was discovering my own book character with you. 😉 Great tag!

This whole ‘rare’ INFJ thing is a conspiracy to make us sensitive INFJ’s feel good I swear it!

lmao ikr? I’m a huge narcissist, and that “rare” thing really didn’t help my ego. 😉

Oh yay I’m advocate too. I love how it says it’s a very rare personality because there are so many people on WordPress it seems who have that personality as well. Maybe it is rare we’re just all on the same site blogging about books! 🙂
Also yes we have the best fictional characters right?! 😀
Great post.

Haha! I’m thinking the same thing! All the INFJ’s have just herded themselves into book blogs, maybe there’s a hive mind? I’m going to try utilising that to get cake sent to me.
I think we have the *best* fictional characters, no contest!

Well we all have the same personality traits so in a way the hive mind idea kind of makes sense a little. 🙂

This is such a fun tag! I’m actually really tempted to do it and make my own commentary on their description of my personality.
