Bookish: The Mystery Blogger Award

Bookish

We all have those weeks don’t we? Those ones where absolutely nothing goes according to plan and we can’t quite get our sh*t together. Excusez -moi for my language!

What’s even worse is that now I’m on my ‘wedding diet’ I can’t eat my way through the week like I would really love to and I mean I would really love to. Calories have never looked so good. But this is not a dieting blog, unless, um you want it to be? Please don’t want it to be though as my five a day consists of five different fruit flavoured sweets so I have nothing to offer there.

I have got lots of comments to reply to and lots of blogs posts to read but I like to take my time to read them all so as soon as I get that time (sweet, precious time) I will be on that like it’s a giant double stacked burger with bacon and cheese with a side order of onion rings.

One pretty awesome thing is that I was tagged by Sara @ The Bibliophagist for The Mystery Blogger Award!

Here we go!

Three things about me!

One

I have the worst eyesight ever. Ok, maybe not ever but if I don’t have my contact lenses or glasses I am painfully short-sighted. As in, I can’t see the lines on my palm if I hold it 30 cm away without my vision being corrected. Laser eye surgery is a wishful dream.

Two

While I don’t have a favourite movie I have seen Pitch Perfect about a million times. It’s always on E4 and I always watch it without fail. If I find myself singing songs that are in the movie I never, ever do it as the original version anymore. I sing it Pitch Perfect acapella style. Help me. Help anyone that knows me.

Three

I don’t know what I did before I began a bullet journal. I pride myself on being the Queen of Organisation which sort of looks like the Queen of Lists and when I realised I had too many notebooks with different list variations I also realised I needed to get more coordinated. I stumbled upon bullet journalling and love it. Of course life can throw the best of plans out the window!

And here are the five questions from The Bibliophagist!

Q1.1

It’s a small thing but sometimes the small things are the best. Like me! Ahem.

I bought a hair vine for me to wear at my wedding and it arrived today. It’s very pretty and full of little crystals and pearls and I got very overexcited when it came out of the box. I worked from home today and I must confess… I worked on UK GDPR compliance for my company while wearing it for a bit. Shhhh…

Q1.2

I quite like the Top 5 Wednesday blog post that I did for Favourite Jokesters because that’s the first ever time I’ve done a meme and not only was it good fun but it made me really think about the books I read!

Q1.3

My go to song is Modest Mouse’s ‘Float On’ but I also love Rusted Root’s ‘Send Me On My Way.’ I do what I call ‘singing’ to this. Not acapella… but now that you’ve mentioned it…

Q4.1

pot au chocolat

Some people call this ‘pot au chocolat’ but I call it a little pot of heaven.

Q5.1

It’s probably very typical of a reader/ book blogger to say writing but that’s the truth of it and I am nothing if not honest. I also enjoy walking and prefer it over any other method of getting around, I will walk anywhere and at any time and in any weather. I mean that, any weather. None of this ‘oh it’s raining bollocks.’ Is that a hobby? Well it releases endorphins so let’s go with yes! I also like travelling very, very much.

Here are my five questions…

  1. If you had to name a cocktail after your personality what would you call it? Bonus points if you know what ingredients it would have.
  2. You’ve woken up and had the sudden realisation that you’ve grown a pair of wings. What do they look like? Do they suit you?
  3. If you didn’t have to sleep what would you do instead?
  4. You have to chuck three books you hate into the volcano to appease the god/goddess of bad books. What three go in?
  5. You’ve fallen down the rabbit hole and have entered Wonderland. Where the first place you head to? Why?

nominess

I’m not going to list 10 – 20 people but I will nominate 5! Don’t feel you have to but I would love if you did 🙂

  1. Aw thank you for the nom, Gerry! ❤ I'm really digging the creativity of those questions. And my eyesight is also the worst! I always joke that I need to stock up on multiple glasses and cases of contact lenses in case there's a zombie apocalypse. Because without them I'll probably end up trying to hug a zombie and getting very, very dead.

Also, that pot au chocolat picture is tempting me to make myself a chocolate mug cake. And it's like 5:30 in the morning…

    1. I don’t know if you’ve seen The Mummy – the first one with Brendan Fraser? But there’s a character who gets his glasses broken and he’s stumbling around on the ground looking for them as the mummy approaches. All he can see is a blur and I’m like ‘that’s me right there and that’s death coming for me’ so I know where you are coming from! All times are good chocolate times. 5.30 am is as good as any!

    1. I haven’t dresses up for Halloween for so long and I miss it! Oh no, I must have missed that post you did, sorry for double tagging you! But cheekily I would love to know what your answers would be! 😛

  2. Haha same, my eyesight is also pretty horrible. I’m hoping to get eye laser surgery, but my dad is a doctor, and he told me to wait a few more years as unknown side effects could emerge. And gosh, that “pot of heaven” is making me really hungry right now haha. Hopefully your diet isn’t depriving you of this delight? 😉

Thank you so much for nominating me! I love your blog (like, for reals) and a belated congrats on your marriage! (wish I could see that hair vine btw; it sounds lovely! ❤ )

    1. I would say that my diet is depriving me but I’ve just eaten a whole pizza so….

The marriage hasn’t happened yet – just under three months away now eeep!!! This is probably going to turn into a book and obsessing about wedding plans blog. I’ll try and tone it down!

Look forward to reading your answers!

      1. Hahaha pizza is a good substitute I’d say! And I know, that must be so nerve-wracking! Three months left of being single…whew, you enjoy that time and gush about your emotions as much as you’d like!
